Amanda’s Story
Hi there! Welcome to my blog – I really look forward to sharing information and to hearing from you.
About me? I live in sunny Newcastle, Australia – a couple of hours north of Sydney. I grew up in Victoria, near the world famous Great Ocean Road, and in between have spent time living in Darwin (known as Crocodile Dundee country to some). I have a husband and two children who are the number one priority in my life.
The other priority, or should I say CORNERSTONE in my life is Tibetan Buddhist meditation, which I have been practising for six years now. I also avidly read about and live The Law of Attraction. I am particularly interested in the scientific and historical aspects of The Law of Attraction, rather than just seeing or approaching it from a ‘new age’ perspective.
To complement my meditation I include Vinyasa yoga practice as part of my fitness routine, and I also do Reiki.
I look forward to sharing more with you about how I have transformed my mind and therefore my life. Like most people I have a way to go, but I am very grateful to be where I am at this point, and especially to be able to offer so much back to the world – if only I had been introduced to some of the above as a child!
Why am I here?
I never thought I would be sharing my experiences and training on the Internet, but I am SO glad to be here! I couldn’t be happier and it is mainly thanks to The Passion Test that I managed to rapidly steer myself into a life which is more fulfilling than I could have ever have imagined a few years ago.
Why did it take The Passion Test to get me into a great place?
After being provided with the best education I could ask for, and generally being an “A” grade student, with a very clear idea of where I wanted to head in life, I proceeded to make one wrong career decision after another! Instead of pursuing my science degree, I did nursing, just because it provided a small income and I was FEARFUL of being a university student with no money. After hating almost every day of the six years as a nurse, I decided to change to something I enjoyed. Once again however, instead of embracing my passions, it was FEAR and FALSE CONCEPTS that lead me to studying an applied science degree in photography. This was OK, and at the end of it I was lucky enough to head up a brand new forensic photography department. That was an amazing experience and it was there that I met my husband who is a forensic pathologist. So I am still lucky enough to have direct experience of the fascinating forensic world, but now just as an interested bystander!
From there I randomly followed another chance
I ran my own Medical Photography business for the past 18 years – in amongst doing many other things, not least having a family. My business involved Total Body Photography for the early detection of melanoma – very worthwhile and life-saving. However, once again I spent YEARS OF MY LIFE doing something that my heart wasn’t in, even though I was successful and good at it. In fact I often loathed it, but I kept going because I had ATTACHMENT and yes, once again FEAR was involved.
In the past two years my life has been COMPLETELY and utterly TRANSFORMED because I was lucky enough to come across a book called The Passion Test. I have SO many amazing things to tell you about this “chapter” that I will have to save it for separate posts.
So this is me now
My life consists mainly of CONTENTMENT in the present moment, and a feeling of ENTHUSIASM for the future. How do I spend my days? I enjoy my family, I immerse myself in the area of science meets mind and spirituality, I am a recently trained Reiki master and am training as a Law of Attraction coach. I am a qualified Passion Test facilitator and look forward to introducing children, as well as adults, to both The Passion Test and the power of their minds through meditation.
Whilst I don’t regret the past twenty or so years as they have given me irreplaceable experiences, I would like to spare people from at least SOME “learning the hard way”!
Oh, and as for the FEAR, that has been replaced by a quiet CONFIDENCE
Please leave me a comment and point me in the right direction for learning more about YOU!
